Sustainability Interest Group (SIG)

The purpose of the Sustainability Interest Group (SIG) is to help libraries take a more active approach to sustainability practices, both within the library and in the community, by creating a place for networking and resource sharing. Whether a library has already implemented sustainable practices or is wanting to investigate the topic, this group would allow members to discuss ideas and share best practices. Sustainability has been a focus of librarians recently with ALA adding Sustainability as its 12th core value and IFLA being involved with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. They encourage library participation because of our position within our communities.
