CALCON 2020 Submission Deadline - EXTENDED

January was crazy busy - we get it! It feels like we just finished coming up with New Year’s Resolutions, and yet it’s already February.

If you had a proposal planned for CALCON 2020 but didn’t get a chance to submit before the deadline, then you’re in luck! To celebrate Library Lovers’ Month, the CALCON Planning Committee is extending the submission deadline to Friday, February 14, 2020.

We are now accepting proposals for CALCON 2020! Whether this is your first, fifteenth, or fiftieth time presenting at a conference, we welcome your contributions and look forward to seeing the new and exciting things you have to share with colleagues from all across the state and surrounding areas.

NEW THIS YEAR: We’ve added “Information Sharing” as a 5th presentation type! If you have something great to share with others but don’t think you’ll need a full 60-minute session, then this session type is for you. In addition to the standard (60-minute) sessions, you have the option of presenting for 5-7 minutes (lightning talk) or 18-20 minutes (think TED talks!).

New idea you’re considering? Great! Recent program that went well? Share it! Activity that completely failed? We can learn from it!

NEW Submission deadline: Friday, February 14, 2020
Acceptance notification: Wednesday, April 1, 2020

Selection Process

Proposals will be reviewed by a committee of librarians from a broad variety of institutions with final selection by the conference organizers. This ensures that CALCON offers sessions on a range of topics from a diverse set of institutions and presenters. Interested in being part of the selection process? Fill out the Volunteer Application Form today!

If you have any questions or require an accommodation to complete your application, please contact the Programs Subcommittee at [email protected].

Comments from Attendees about sessions:

This was one of the best workshops (includes offerings from PLA & ALA) on child development and learning I have ever attended! Fabulous.

Great ideas that I plan to implement at my library!”

“Practical and useful tips!”
