Academic Libraries Interest Group

The Academic Libraries Interest Group has an opening for its chair.

CAL’s Academic Libraries Interest Group allows members an informal network to exchange ideas and problem-solve areas of interest in academic librarianship.

The Academic Libraries Interest Group is currently seeking a chair. If you are interested in this leadership position, please contact CAL or Tiah Frankish.*

*Interest groups meet as needed (monthly, quarterly...) to discuss topics relevant to their interests. The chair is responsible for setting up a meeting, agenda and link (may use CAL's Zoom if it is available) and communicating meeting time and descriptions to CAL to be added to CAL's calendar. If the interest group wishes to host an event, the chair may reach out to the Board president for more information. Event ideas include: webinar with a guest speaker, a half or full day of in-person or virtual sessions, a meet and greet social event, etc. The only requirement is to report to the board any goings on through a simple form that is connected to a calendar invite. The time commitment can be as much or as little as a chair is willing to donate as CAL is a volunteer organization. The chair must maintain an active CAL individual memberships.

Note:  Participation in CAL Interest Groups is a benefit reserved for current CAL individual members. To join or renew your membership, please visit CAL Membership.
