Queer Interest Group (QIG)

CAL's Queer Interest Group is dedicated to providing support and direction to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, asexual, intersex, and queer identified library and information professionals, as well as our allies within Colorado’s libraries. CAL QIG also seeks to identify, create, and promote Queer library programs, services, and materials for all library users, as well as promoting all diversity-based library initiatives.

We are interested in having members from all around the state of Colorado and from multiple types of libraries and information professions, as well as library/information science students. If you would be interested in joining our leadership team, please let us know!

This is a social networking group. This is a safe virtual space and we never record our meetings. We are only hosting four online virtual meetings this year due to past attendance in previous years. Due to a security breach in the past, participants must be vetted and preregistered 24 hours prior to our meetings via the Meeting Information Page here QIG Meeting Registration

In this group, we talk about queer book/media/event recommendations and share resources that we've found helpful in our libraries. In the past, we've also had brainstorming sessions with programming and pride events. Last year we even tried our hand at volunteering and hope to do that again this year. 

We hope to see you soon! Allies are always welcomed!
